8:39 - 01-05-06 Civil War I borrowed a cd from the library, The Civil War. It's a soundtrack from a PBS documentary series aired originally in the 90's. I got it primarily for the old folk music, which I collect, but also specifically for the song "Battle Cry of Freedom", which is so beautifully played on this album. Here are the lyrics: The Battle Cry of Freedom Oh, we'll rally 'round the flag, boys, The Union forever, hurrah, boys, hurrah! We are springing to the call of our brothers gone before, The Union forever, hurrah, boys, hurrah! We will welcome to our numbers the loyal, true and brave, The Union forever, hurrah, boys, hurrah! So we're spring-ing to the call from the East and from the West, The song reminds me of all the other great war rally sons of the day, like "Battle Hymn of the Republic", and "The Minstrel Boy". I would also mention "Scots Wae Hae", which used to me Scotland's anthem, in the hearts of many Scots, it still is. Anyways, in the jacket of the Civil War soundtrack were some quotes from the era about the war. I feel they are as relevant today as they were then.
"We have shared the incommunicable experience of war. We have felt, we still feel, the passion of life to its top, ...In our youths, our hearts were touched with fire." "I can anticipate no greater calamity for the country than the dissolution of the Union. It would be an accumulation of all the evils we complain of, and I am willing to sacrifice everything but honor for its preservation." "Sunday a soldier of Company A died and was buried. Everything went on as if nothing had happened, for death is so common that little sentiment is wasted. It is not tike death at home."
8:18 - 01-05-06 The ugliness of love's obsession. Jay/Eric is freaking out over Susie, and she finally let him have it. It's about fucking time, I was about to freak out on him too. But this won't be about that, no, I'm more worried about Clayton. I think I'm getting a lil obsessed (not that he seems to mind), I keep picking up the phone to see if there's a message. He calls at irregular times, so I'm not sure if I should be online or not. I'm not crazy crazy yet, it's still just the first ...OMG! Our 1 month anniversary is in 6 days!!! Holy shit time flies! let's see the 11th is a Wednesday, maybe we can get together later that night, if miss snowy winter will keep the roads clear. I could make him my chicken. I'll need more cornflour though. Ooo! I'm so excited! I just can't hide it! I'm a-I'm a-I'm about to lose control, and I think I like it!
6:41 - 01-03-06 Guestbooks and Domains I'm tired. I got a Guestbook again! YAY ME! Yay for you too, now everyone can leave me messages! But it automatically blocks swearing, I can't do anything about that. I should finish doing laundry today, it'll be a miracle if it makes into the washer. Last night I threw all my clothes on the floor, saw my scanner on the shelf, then began playing with that all night. I scanned some neat shit for the website. If the fuckers at Diland ever email me the info on how to use the bloody thing I paid $50 for!!! grrr...
12:52 - 01-02-06 Very Bad Jokes I found some jokes while taking a survey... I should find this offensive, but I can't! HA HA! Q: What do you call a gay guy with diarhea? * Q: Why is Dracula so unpopular? * A: What do you call two banana peels? * Q: What's green, fuzzy, and if it fell out of a tree would kill you? * Panda walks into a bar. He eats. Takes A gun out and shoots out all the glasses. Then leaves. Bartender didn't even flinch. So the other patrons asked what that was all about. Bartender opens a dictionary and points to a listing: Panda, Eats chutes and leaves. * This ones so offensive, but still funny- An elephant robs a bank. When the police got there they ask the teller to give a description of the elephant. * Knock knock!
